Work
TLDR; I’ve been working almost exclusively with iOS since 2013. First as a freelancer but mostly as a consultant, currently at Knowit. I’ve also been working on a few side-projects, primarily with Kidpilot.
This will be quite a long read, if you want my resume in short LinkedIn is probably the best way. Below I’ll try to list my experience, from newest to oldest.
Working Experience
Knowit (Feb 2019 - )
In February I’ll be start working at Knowit as an iOS Developer. I never had any intention not staying longer than a year at Layer 10 but Knowit are about to build a new sub-company in Gothenburg called Knowit Mobile (which already exists in Malmö and Stockholm), where I’m the first consultant they hired. We will be focusing on mobile development, obviously, and I’m really excited for what will come.
Kidpilot (Jan 2015 - )
I joined Kidpilot to continue build on the app Punch In, for Mac. Since then we have released the app Something and Punch In for iOS. At the moment we are most excited about Spinn, our disc golf app. But in short, we create beautiful yet simple apps, primarily for Mac and iOS. No one of us are currently working full-time, but more like nights and weekends.
Layer Ten Collective (Jan 2018 - Dec 2018)
After my parental leave I joined Layer 10, a smaller consultant company with a more family feeling. Pretty soon I got my first, and only, assignment as an iOS developer at Volvo Cars, working on Volvo On Call.
I was working in the Core team which was responsible for the app platform. Partly maintenance of the core functionality and partly making it possible for the feature teams to add completely new features.
HiQ (Dec 2014 - Jan 2018)
When HiQ recruited me it was time for my next step. I enjoyed freelancing, but not the hunting for customers part. I had also realized that I had a lot to learn within iOS Development, and where to learn better than around other developers.
During my time at HiQ I worked mostly with our in-house projects, primarily building apps from start to a 1.0 version but I also did some smaller projects only including bug fixes and patch updates. I also spent a few month abroad, working with concept development. The biggest projects I worked on was Volvofinans Bank and CarPay, Jula, EWOS/Cargill and Volvo Cars.
Freelancing (Oct 2012 - Dec 2014)
During my studies (App Development and Mobile E-Commerce) a started my own freelancing business and kept going full-time for a year or two. I did a few projects during this time, but also some consultant gigs.
I actually still have my freelancing business legally active, but I’m not doing anything with it at the moment. A full-time job, Kidpilot and a family takes up most of my time.
Pre iOS Development
Before I decided to become an iOS Developer I worked with web content for a few years at Mecenat. I acted as a link between market and IT department, trying to push new features for web and email.
Education
App Development (Vocational Education) (Aug 2012 - Jun 2013)
During the one year of App Development we touched cross-platform, Android and iOS development. I also did kind of a proof of concept for The Holy Hand Grenade as a trainee at IMGNRY.
Mobile E-Commerce (Qualified Vocational Education) (Aug 2011 - Jun 2013)
During these two years we study all kind of different courses like project management, business, marketing and even some cross-platform development. I also started my freelance business during this year, starting taking clients.
Information Logistics (Bachelor) (Aug 2006 - Jan 2010)
This education contained a wide range of courses like, organizations, marketing, logistics, project management, physcology and a few IT courses - but all on a quite basic level. They wanted us to become generalists rather than specialists, for a more holistic view of things.
Also, it was during this time that I met my wife, and we did our last year with internships and bachelor thesis in Gothenburg.
